Glory to Jesus Christ!

Dear Friends,

We will resume our adult education on Sunday, September 4th. As with last year, these sessions will focus on facilitating group discussion, mutual learning and, Lord willing, illumination of various aspects of the Orthodox Faith. This year we will explore a series of themes, spending a few weeks on each. The first theme will be social ethics -- our vocation as Christians and what that means, in specific terms, in our relationship with God and with our fellow human beings.

A logistical note: This year we will hold these sessions in one of the classrooms rather than in the main hall, which will be more conducive to effective group discussion.

Note: If you would like to "read ahead" in preparation for these discussions (not required but always appreciated!), I would strongly recommend beginning with St. Basil the Great, "On Social Justice", available through St. Vladimir Seminary Press -- an excellent starting point. Any questions, please let me know -- I welcome your feedback and suggestions. I wish you peace and joy as we approach the new Church New Year (1 September).

Your servant in Christ,
-Charles.

PLEASE REMEMBER TO PRAY for our Mission Parish Community every day, that, by the grace of God, His Church may grow and become fully established, for the sanctification and salvation of souls, and that He may be worshiped and glorified in an Orthodox manner in Northern Maryland.
